While true that her education began in in 1969, when the future
Dr. Gail Weingast attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts, doing the work needed to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, she must have felt a calling to medicine soon after, when she attended the Boston University School of Medicine and officially became Dr. Gail Weingast MD in 1976. Of course, as usual for doctors, there were numerous internships, residencies and fellowships involved in completing her education and she finished that up at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver, way back in 1984.
Following that,
Dr. Gail Weingast worked at an assortment of hospitals in Colorado and New York before landing at her current hospital, in Connecticut. At William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, she has been a radiologist for more than two decades. In that time, as the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging and over that time, she has been able to guide her department into its current position as a premiere radiology department at one of the medical facilities in New England.
